Creative Dramatics
to Enhance Social Skills

Two Separate Sessions
For Age Groups
6 to 8 & 9 to 12

Creative dramatics is a process-centered form of drama in which participants are guided by a leader
to imagine, enact and reflect upon human experiences through
role-play, pantomime, movement
and sound.

Through informal dramatics activities, students:

Develop communication skills
Improve ensemble skills
Learn to be empathetic
Develop cooperation skills
Learn to compromise

Targeted skills include movement, dialogue, concentration, problem-solving and critical thinking.

16-week program
Once a week sessions
At Newtown Square Location
Covered by some health plans

Get Together with COLLAGE Activity-Based Programs
rulebar COLLAGE is a professionally guided activity-based therapy program for people seeking a place to learn and to practice social skills in an emotionally safe environment. In COLLAGE, groups are led by occupational therapists who specialize in analyzing activities and using them therapeutically. Through activity, group members are helped toward achieving the individual social goals each has established. Individuals in COLLAGE learn to adopt a positive and realistic view of their friend-making and interacting skills, and to take responsibility for modifying their own social behaviors.

COLLAGE OTP Programs help social competence flourish by:

  • Providing weekly activity groups
  • Offering individual social coaching
  • Building friend-making and interaction skills
  • Helping people "catch on" to social cues
  • Encouraging people to "get" the viewpoint of others
